Grants for Black Entrepreneurs

It is the beginning of 2022, and the pandemic and its effects on small businesses owners are still ongoing. Black-owned businesses are being affected at the highest rates across the nation. To help counter the economic instability, here is an updated list of grants and resources for this year!
Comcast Rise
Comcast Rise aims to help “Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)-owned small businesses” that were hit the hardest in the ongoing pandemic. Here are a few of the benefits of receiving the grant: consulting help, media strategy help, technology makeover and monetary help. There are different rounds year round.
FedEx Small Business Grant Contest
The FedEx Small Business Grant Contest has not opened for 2022. The contest offers three different prices. The grand prize is $50,000, second place is $30,000 and the third prize is $15,000. Twelve businesses will receive the prizes. The requirements are to create a short profile of your business and upload your logo. It is optional to create a YouTube video.
National Association for Self-Employment
The National Association for the Self-Employed offers a grant of up to $4,000 to small business owners. To be eligible, you must be a member.
Small Business Administration 8(a) Business Development Program
The SBA 8(a) Business Development Program aims to provide business development help and business management guidance. To be able to qualify, you must be a small business, have not been a member of the 8(a) program and have an adjusted gross income of $350,000 or less.
Small Business Innovation Research Grants
The National Institutes of Health gives grants for technology-based business or research-based projects. Each year, they accept applications three times: Jan. 5, April 5 and Sept. 5.
The Halstead Grant
The Halstead Grant is open for “emerging silver artists.” This grant aims to help the winners kick-start their business with $7,500. The deadline is Aug. 1, 2022.
USA Gov Grants
The federal government has different grants and loan opportunities in the USA. Gov website. It also provides catalogs of the various recovery initiatives, research money opportunities and much more. It also has resources that can help you differentiate authentic grant opportunities versus fraudulent offers.
