In Fiscal Year 2023, the federal government committed about $759 billon on contracts and if you add in state and local government spending there is good opportunity for you to sell your product(s) and or service(s) to the government. It is a competitive process, so you need to know how to market your business to set yourself apart from your competitors. An important tool you can use in your marketing effort is a capability statement. It is a snapshot of your company – who you are, what you’ve done, and what you can do for your customers. It is also known as your business resume. It can open the door for further conversations with potential customers and may lead to increased sales.
As an added bonus every attendee will receive a copy of the Government Marketing Strategy Guide.
This session is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. There will be an hour break for lunch (on your own) and then the class will resume from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for breakout sessions. The UH APEX will have Procurement Advisors available (via breakout sessions) to review and critique your complete hardcopy capabilities statement. Procurement advising during this time will be strictly limited to capabilities statement reviews. Due to UH APEX Client workload, this may be the only opportunity for you to have your capabilities statement reviewed. Please bring a pen and paper for note taking as recording of these review sessions is strictly prohibited. All class participants will be allowed to take part. These interviews will be conducted on a first come first serve basis.
