Power BI is Microsoft’s Business Intelligence Platform. This powerful tool allows you to extract valuable insights from your business data and share it with key personnel. Translating your data into useful information enables you to make better business decisions. Join us as our experienced Power BI trainer demonstrates this application and walks you through how you can start using it in your business. This is a hands-on class using Microsoft Power BI Desktop.

This class is intended for business owners and professionals who have solid experience using Microsoft Excel and want to learn how to use Power BI to manage their data.

Please Note:
No one will be admitted to computer workshops later than 10 minutes past the start time.
This training is conducted on PC computers - MAC computers are not used.
Please do not bring your laptops as we cannot offer assistance using them and the exercises used during the workshop cannot be loaded to personal laptops. Each participant will have a PC computer to work on during the workshop.
Each person attending an event must have their own account. Multiple people may not register under one account.
The SBDC reserves the right to cancel a class for insufficient enrollment, weather emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. Should a cancellation occur, we will use the email you provided to contact you.
Preregistration is highly recommended. If an event is canceled or postponed and you have not preregistered, we will not be able to contact you.
If you choose to register at the door, you will need your mobile device to complete your registration otherwise you will not be allowed to attend.
Satisfactory meeting room temperatures are difficult to maintain. Always bring a sweater or jacket to ensure comfort.
No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the workshop.
Only service animals allowed - If you need to bring a service animal with you to a workshop please contact us ahead of time.

Dr. Leezet Llorance
My experience in IT began in 1988 when I was hired as a developer for McDonnell Douglas. Since then, I have worked as an Oracle ERP and SAP Administration consultant for Price Waterhouse (1993 – 1997) and as a BI technical manager/consultant for Oracle (1997 – 2002) which prepared me to work as an independent consultant (2004-2014) before being hired by Lone Star College – System Office where I served as a Sr. Analyst in the Analytics & Institutional (AIR) department until 2019. From fall 2019 to fall 2021, I worked in leadership roles in education. I am working on my next career goal which is to offer actionable data insights through data science; the intersection of mathematics, computer science, and a discipline (with academics and business as my discipline). My teaching experience as a professional corporate trainer began in the early 1990s. Later in my career, in 2010, I began teaching academically. I currently teach for the data analytics program at LSC – UP.
